Since July 2006 directive 2002/95/EC has been in force in Europe, it refers to RoHS (Restriction of use of Hazardous Substances). This directive restricts the use of lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd) hexavalent chrome and two flame-retardants, which contain bromine, in electronic equipment, on the grounds of protecting the environment
Probattery has focused its attention on manufacturing processes free of the restricted materials previously mentioned, with the objective of manufacturing electronic systems destined for the European market which meet the specified directive.
Probattery has analysed and tested lead free components and printed circuit boards using galvanized solder, together with an automatic and manual lead free soldering process, with the objective of being able to replace the current units by the date specified for the enforcement of the said directive.
These actions, together with the supply of Lith and NiMh cells also free of said contaminants means that Probattery is able to offer and guarantee that its products are compatible with the RoHS directive.
